Unit Lab is the creative partnership of Cindy Strobach and Mike Vanis. Based in South London, we design products, installations and experiences that bridge science, art, and the natural world. Our ambition to make science accessible and democratic is at the core of our work. We design objects that make science relevant on a personal level, finding the beauty in it and making it exciting.
Our practice involves creating installations for schools, museums and cultural institutions. Alongside these installations, we run workshops with children and adults to include them in the design process, and to conduct research. We like to break stereotypes in playgrounds in order to trigger cross-generational play, and create a multi-layered experience between play, science and art.
